About Us

Our Mission

Alkire Advisory is committed to each client through service, risk management and plan-based strategy execution. Our mission is to provide clients with value-added trade information, efficient order execution, and responsive customer service focused on the success of your Ag business!

Key Market Differentiation

The difference between Alkire Advisory and a commission-based commodity broker, newsletter service or grain buyer is that our fee reduces the combative relationship. We focus on profit and loss of the farm business and advise the use of the lowest cost and most effective strategy that best suits each client’s situation. Click here.

Family-Owned and Operated Since 1988

Since 1988, Dennis and Connie Alkire have built a strong reputation with farmers and the agri-business community. Alkire Advisory believes providing consistent, informative advice and executing sound market plans result in long-term success.

Dennis J. Alkire

President

Equipped with a B.S. degree from Purdue University (1981), Dennis started his journey in ag advisory as a teaching assistant for Dr. Bill Uhrig and his AgEcon 420, Grain Marketing class. In June 1981 Dennis started his commercial hedging career with Farmers Commodities Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa. His clients were truck and rail grain shippers across northern Iowa. While at FCC, he helped start a fee-based farmer advisory service. The program his group developed in 1983 helped farmers determine the most competitive whole-base PIK bid they could offer, to equal their next best profit opportunity to farm that year.  In 1984, Alkire became the assistant to the owner of Doane Farm Management Company, based in Chicago, IL. He worked closely with the firm’s farm managers in grain marketing and business development. A year later Alkire became the second marketing advisor to a new up-start, Agricultural Marketing and Planning Services in Indiana. He helped grow the business to seven advisors and three offices.

In 1988, Dennis started Alkire Advisory, Inc. where he is the president. In 2010 Alkire Advisory began working from Bradenton, FL on a part-year basis and it became a full-time change in 2012. Dennis feels blessed every day for great long-term client relationships, a great clearing firm and the opportunity to work from Florida.
